Annette the Silver Phoenix Hen

Annette the Silver Phoenix Hen

Annette, Wyatt's silver phoenix hen, earned herself a blue ribbon- and the Best of Breed title at the Pima County Fair this year! We have some of her hatchlings here on the property now, and cannot wait to see how they turn out!
White Phoenix Pair- Blondie and Beau

White Phoenix Pair- Blondie and Beau

White Phoenixes come in a combination of traits from traditional Japanese black or brown breasted phoenixes. Beau took second to his girlfriend Bondie, both of which were raised here at Patriot's dream. This pair will be breeding over the summer!
Trooper the Partridge Silkie Hen

Trooper the Partridge Silkie Hen

Many folks like the personality and appearance of silkies. Wyatt earned the purchase of a few for good grades a little over a year ago, and Trooper has done well for him at shows, including a blue ribbon and best variety title at the open show this year. Partridge is a more unusual color, but the "camo" look fits in well at Patriot's Dream. Rumor has it she may become one of his showmanship birds for his first official 4H year.
Fritz

Fritz

Fritz is a white cochin frizzle hen. She was being picked on in her original home on the east side of town, and was given to Wyatt so she could have more space and friends. She is a happy little girl who likes to run around with the silkies. She earned a blue ribbon at the open show, and even came back the following week so a friend could borrow her for showmanship!
Poofy the Cochin

Poofy the Cochin

In the same week as Fritz came to us, Poofy and Foofy, two cochin hens were originally the ones being picked on. They life in the larger pen, and like to sleep in the big Mesquite tree near the swingset. The hadn't been named at ther original home, so I took to calling the Poofy and Foofy. Much to Wyatt's chagrin, the names stuck! This sweet hen earned herself a blue ribbon, but wasn't much on getting her picture taken!
Muffy the Americauna

Muffy the Americauna

Americaunas are a mix of South American Aricaunas and american breeds. The original breed from South America lay blue eggs (though only a very few each year), are more white, and have no tail. Depending upon the cross of the breed, the Americaunas may lay tan, green, pink or blue eggs, and vary in color, but have silly earmuffs. Muffy is a rooster who was named for the earmuffs, and is generally pretty tame. He earned his first blue ribbon at the open show- his first show ever!
Buffy the Buff Orpington

Buffy the Buff Orpington

Buff Orpingtons are supposed to be this deep golden buff color. We like Buffy here because she is so sweet and a good layer. But she was very proud of her blue ribbon!
